As the P3 airport market gains traction in the US, we present a case study on a recent P3 transforming Northern Virginia's Manassas Regional Airport into Washington DC’s newest commercial passenger airport. This study explores the unique challenges faced by the regional airport in one of the most underserved markets and densely populated counties in DC's Metro Area. The panelists will share how the development and financial objectives of the public (City of Manassas) and the private operator and equity investor (Avports) are integrated into a 40-year lease with a projected investment exceeding $100 million. The goal is to commence commercial passenger service by next summer.
